V is for Victory
This stunning glass table has the unique characteristic of being made from one slab of wood. This particular maple was attacked by the ambrosia beetle, which bruises the tree as it borrows in to lay it’s eggs. These bruises end up making wild flame like patterns throughout the tree. We chose to use a glass top to highlight as many of these flames as we could. In addition, the “V” shape allows the end owner to add their own artistic spin by filling the cavity under the glass. We chose to use slag that was found in the woods of Northwest Connecticut. This slag is left over from when they mined iron ore to make cannons and muskets during the Revolutionary war.
